Driver won't be charged over Mongrel Mob deaths

5:31 pm on 6 April 2016

No charges will be laid in relation to the Wairoa crash which killed three Mongrel Mob members last November, police say.

In a statement released this afternoon, police said forensic tests and a crash analysis had established a second vehicle was involved.

However, no charges were being considered against its driver.

An independent reviewer had agreed with police that there was no evidence to support charging the second driver.

At the time of the crash, police said they were investigating whether the car had been run off the road.

The matter has been referred to the coroner.
