A manslaughter charge has been laid against a man accused of supplying a fatal drug dose to another man in Wellington.
Philip John Caswell, 44, appeared in the High Court in Wellington on Monday, charged with killing Michael Louis by an unlawful act - namely administering to him a Class A or Class B drug - thereby committing manslaughter.
In October last year ambulance staff were called to a Wellington house, where they found a Mr Louis unresponsive as a result of a drug overdose. He died later in hospital.
Mr Caswell pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded on bail for trial on 9 August.
