Legal action is being taken by television broadcasters against companies offering the internet service Global Mode

The service allows customers to access overseas content that is normally blocked in New Zealand.
Sky Television, Television New Zealand, Lightbox and Mediaworks say they pay considerable amounts for exclusive content rights and internet service providers are breaching copyright law by offering Global Mode.
Earlier this month they issued letters to companies including CallPlus, Bypass Network Services, and Orcon telling them to stop such services.
But the chief executive of CallPlus, Mark Callender, said Global Mode only enables people to access the internet and the company was not breaking any copyright laws.
He said it was up to customers to behave legally.
