A computer problem resulted in delays for thousands of Jetstar passengers last night and this morning.
Tickets had to be processed manually, which delayed flights by 60 to 90 minutes.
The delay - which happened as the main Christmas travel period kicked off - affected passengers in Australia as well as New Zealand.
A Jetstar official said the computer problem was fixed at about 10.30am this morning but it would take some hours before the backlog was cleared.
Jetstar will offer direct flights to the Gold Coast from Wellington and Queenstown from December. The budget airline plans to fly three times a week from both cities.
