A 35-year-old man charged with the sexual assault of a five-year-old girl at Cooks Beach on the Coromandel Peninsula early last year has appeared in court.
The man, who has interim name suppression, faced one charge of indecent assault when he appeared in the Hamilton District Court this morning. He did not enter a plea.
He was granted bail on the condition he does not enter parks, reserves or beaches or associate with anyone under the age of 16.
The man will reappear on 16 November.
