A New Zealand Defence Force bomb squad is travelling to Dunedin to remove a World War II mortar bomb found in a hospice building today.
The police were called and cordoned off the surrounding area.
A shop supervisor who found the mortar bomb this morning said she found it when removing a train set from a box.
The hospice shop's supervisor Cat Callanan said she was going about her daily work when she found the bomb in a box with a toy train.
She said the other shop supervisor told her it was a bomb, but she took it out the back to show it to the man who does metal recycling.
"He was like holy hell, put that down, get everyone out of the shop, it's an old mortar."
Ms Callanan said 15 people, including staff then rushed out of the shop.
