Radio New Zealand was prevented from reporting the lengthy legal arguments at the High Court in Auckland on Tuesday.

Yun Qing Liu is charged with murdering Ms Chen, whose remains were found in Totaravale Park on the North Shore in March, 17 months after she was reported missing.

Mr Liu's trial was set down for October, but last month Mr Liu's lawyer Michael Kan said he had not received all the evidence needed to prepare for it.

A new date is yet to be set down.
