A four wheel drive vehicle is under water in the Christchurch estuary after getting stuck there on Saturday morning.
A towing company says it was called out to help move the the vehicle at about midday.
Spokesperson Trevor Lilley, says the vehicle was stuck in the middle of the estuary when he arrived.
The company would not risk getting its own tow trucks stuck and declined to help.
Mr Lilley says another person with a 4WD tried to help, but failed and the tide has since come in and flooded the stranded vehicle.
