Police in Hamilton are warning the public to stay away from an armed man who is being sought in relation to a series of armed robberies last week.

A liquor store, a superette and a TAB were robbed.

The warning comes after armed officers and the Waikato Armed Offenders squad searched a property on Dinsdale Road on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say nine people are helping with enquiries, although none have been arrested.

Detective senior sergeant Ross McKay says they are still looking for Te Awamutu man, Daniel Haumaha, 24, who is believed to be armed.

Mr Haumaha is Maori, of medium build and 175 cms tall.
