Council hopes to rebuild trust over damaged graves

Auckland Council hopes it can rebuild the trust of the families of the babies' graves that were damaged by contractors.

About three rows of plots at Waikumete cemetery in west Auckland were ploughed and decorations removed during maintenance work earlier this month.

The council has acknowledged the hurt caused.

But families whose babies' graves were affected say they are fed up with the council, and a meeting on Sunday night was too little, too late.
