Police are searching for a British visitor to the South Island missing for two weeks.
Alan Kitching, 65, arrived at Dunedin airport on 22 December and picked up a rental car.
He was meant to return the car on 4 January but has failed to do so.
The vehicle is a Toyota Highlander with registration GHW768.
Police say they fear for his safety, though there may be a simple explanation as to why he has not been seen.
They are appealing for Mr Kitching to contact the nearest police station.
