NZME files injunction over Stuff deal

Media company NZME is digging its heels in over a potential purchase of its rival Stuff and is seeking an injunction against Stuff's owner Australia's Nine Entertainment.

NZME insists it entered into an exclusive negotiating period with Nine on April 23, and that this period has not finished.

However, Nine says talks finished last week with no deal.

NZME has filed an application for an interim injunction against Nine seeking to enforce this binding agreement.
