Most investors are chosing to hoard cash rather than invest it as the financial crisis hits home.
ING's latest investor dashboard sentiment index shows 68% of New Zealand investors are holding cash deposits, while 21% are holding local stocks.
The index also shows confidence is down 39% across the Asia Pacific region in the last year.
Within that, New Zealand investors' confidence dropped 16%.
