SkyCity says it lodged the preliminary design for the new International Convention Centre with the Government early this month.

It said that followed extensive consultations with the Crown's design team.
The casino operator said as soon as the Government signed off on these preliminary designs, it expected to apply for resource consent.
Chairman Chris Moller said the convention centre will help underpin the company's strategic growth over the next five to 10 years.
