Police are investigating an attack on a woman on a street in Riccarton, Christchurch, early this morning.
The woman was grabbed by a stranger who attempted to drag her into a bush about 3.30am.
The woman hit the man in the face with her cellphone and ran away.
Police said the man might have injuries to his face, and were asking any witnesses to come forward.
