A huge manhunt has intensified in the US state of Ohio where police are investigating the deaths of eight members of the same family three days ago.
The shootings were carried out at four homes spanning a distance of 50 kilometres along one road in Pike County.
The victims ranged in age from 16 to 44.
Some appeared to have been shot as they slept, including a woman who was holding her four-day-old baby.
The baby and two other children were spared.
Investigators say the eight killed were specifically targeted for execution in what they describe as a sophisticated operation.
They say the killers also did everything they could do to hinder the investigation.
