A young Northland man has minor injuries after an armed fight in the Far North.
Police said they were called to Houhora, north of Kaitaia, just before 9pm yesterday after shots were fired in a dispute over a front-end loader.
Officers seized firearms and took an 18-year-old man to Kaitaia Hospital with what police described as superficial injuries.
Police said a 47-year-old man is helping them with their inquiries.
The incident was not thought to be gang-related.
