One person has died following a crash between a car and a truck on State Highway One in Canterbury this afternoon.
Senior Sergeant Vaughn Lapslie says emergency services remain at the scene on Hundalee Road, about five kilometres north of the Conway River.
Diversions are being put in place as the police work to reopen the highway as soon as possible.
