The Hawke's Bay Regional Council has welcomed a court ruling tossing out a challenge to the Ruataniwha dam project.
The High Court did not uphold a legal challenge by Forest & Bird against a Department of Conservation decision to swap 22 hectares of protected land from Ruahine Forest Park for 170 hectares of farmland.
The former conservation land will be flooded as the water storage scheme is built.
