Selwyn residents are being warned high temperatures this week will elevate the area's fire risk.
An open fire season is in place in the rural areas of Selwyn's plains after fire restrictions were lifted on February 1 following heavy rain.
Selwyn Principal Rural Fire Officer Douglas Marshall said temperatures in the high 20s and 30s this week would increase the risk.
