The daughter of a west Auckland woman who was brutally killed in her home plans to move out of the house she has lived in for 15 years.

Cun Xiu Tian, 69, was found dead by family 10 days ago, and a 19-year-old Te Atatu man has appeared in court charged with murder and sexual violation.

Speaking through a family friend, Ms Tian's daughter, who works as an accountant in the city, said the family had moved from China two decades ago, and spent 15 of those years in Te Atatu.

She said following the funeral, they planned to take her mother's ashes and move out of the house.

A private funeral is being held in Henderson tomorrow morning.
