Investigators looking into the sinking of a tour boat off Whakatane have set up an exclusion zone around the wreck.
A total of 60 Passengers and crew on the PeeJay V had to jump into the water as the 28-metre vessel went up in flames on Monday.
The Transport Accident Investigation Commission has issued a protection order to stop anyone tampering with the wreckage
It said it had finished collecting evidence in Whakatane and would contact passengers next week.
