HNZ projects for Christchurch

12:31 pm on 8 December 2015

Housing New Zealand (HNZ) has announced it will build five new purpose-built community group housing projects in Christchurch.

The homes are for government-funded organisations which house people with mental and physical disabilities, and will replace properties lost in the 2011 earthquake.

HNZ national manager Karen Hocking said the investment into new community group housing would help meet growing demand for properties in the sector.

Ms Hocking said each house would have six bedrooms, two bathrooms and garages which could be used to store disability equipment such as hoists and shower trollies.
