Kim McGregor appointed to government role

A victims' advocate and therapist has been appointed to the newly created role of chief victims' advisor to the government.

Kim McGregor has worked with victims of sexual and family violence for nearly 30 years.

She will be responsible for providing the Government with independent advice on legislative, policy and other issues relating to victims of crime.

Justice Minister Amy Adams said Dr McGregor would also assist in making the justice system more responsive and easier for victims to navigate.
