A man has been taken to hospital after being shot in Shannon, near Palmerston North.
Police said they were called to a house about 10pm yesterday following reports a man had been shot.
They stopped a vehicle leaving the area, and recovered a firearm.
Three people are now helping with the investigation.
The injured man has been taken to Palmerston North hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
The police say a full scene examination will be conducted today.
