Diversions are in place north of Wellington after a motorcyclist was hit by a car.
The accident was at Pukerua Bay, just north of Porirua.
The police say the man was not severely injured but traffic is backing up.
They are advising motorists heading to Wellington to travel over Paekakariki Hill Rd.
