Methamphetamine, cannabis, the prescription drug Ritalin and a taser have been seized as part of a crackdown on drugs in South Canterbury.
Police said they executed 18 search warrants and arrested eight people in Waimate today, after five months of work by the wider Canterbury police force.
Sergeant Michael Van Der Heyden said the seizures had significantly reduced the availability of illegal drugs in Canterbury.
Three local men remain in custody and will appear in the Timaru District Court tomorrow.
Five other locals have been released on bail and will appear in the court in November.
