The owners of three dogs which mauled two women at Whirinaki Point near Napier this month have been charged under the Dog Control Act.
One woman was mauled while running along the beach and another was attacked while walking along a street. Both were admitted to Hawke's Bay Hospital.
The three dogs came from the same address - one lived there and two were visiting - and the three owners face two charges each.
Two of the dogs were relinquished by their owners and destroyed on Friday, while the third is being held at the pound pending the outcome of the prosecution.
