Detectives have captured a man wanted in connection with a pursuit, which ended with police shooting and injuring another man at the top of the South Island.
Officers say there was no trouble when Jahdai Brice Kennard was arrested in Riwaka with the help of the Armed Offenders Squad this afternoon.
Last month, Ford Hurinui was shot after a pursuit and a half-hour stand-off in Motueka.
At the time, the police said Jahdai Kennard was driving the vehicle being chased.
The 28-year-old is due to appear in Nelson District Court tomorrow on firearms, driving, and protection order breach charges.
Detective Sergeant Chris Roberts says police received significant support from the Motueka community during the hunt for their wanted man.
