A woman who was found guilty of recklessly ill-treating her horse, causing it to die, has had that conviction quashed in the High Court.

In its place, the woman has been found guilty of ill-treating the horse.
In April, Anne Power was found guilty of reckless ill-treatment by letting the horse slowly starve to death.
In an appeal hearing, Justice Andrews has found Ms Power's actions, although harmful, did not meet the legal definition of reckless.
But the judge said the way Ms Power treated the horse did lead to its death, and convicted her of ill-treatment of the animal.
Her case will return to the Auckland District Court for sentencing on the new charge.
