The woman who survived a light plane crash in eastern Taranaki on Sunday has been transferred to Christchurch Hospital.

Anne Warner was a passenger in a Zenith Zodiac aircraft being flown by her husband Alan when it went down near Whangamomona.

The couple's eldest son, Adam Warner, says his mother remains in a stable condition and is comfortable but requires further treatment for her injuries in Christchurch.

Mrs Warner was admitted to Taranaki Base Hospital with moderate chest and back injuries on Monday.

Her husband was admitted with moderate back injuries but was discharged on Monday evening.
