Two young New Zealand baseball players will chase their dream of playing the sport professionally by moving to colleges in the United States.
Auckland catcher Quinten Niu will attend the junior college programme at Central Arizona, while Christchurch pitcher Matt Boyce has been signed by College of the Canyons in California.
Baseball New Zealand said the duo had the ability to compete with top players around the world, and just needed the same opportunities.
Niu follows in the footsteps of Aucklander Scott Campbell, who graduated from Central Arizona to play in the big leagues for the Toronto Blue Jays and Arizona Diamondblacks.
