Oamaru's daily newspaper is going through a restructure, but the paper's editor-in-chief says it will not be closed down.
The Oamaru Mail was first published nearly 140 years ago and serves the North Otago area.
Editor-in-chief of Allied Press community newspapers, Barry Stewart, said staff were given a restructure proposal earlier this month, and feedback was due today.
He said the restructure was part of making the paper more financially efficient.
He would not be drawn on what was in the proposal, saying it was confidential. An announcement to staff is expected on Friday.
