National overtakes Labour in new political poll

The National Party has overtaken Labour in the latest political poll released this evening, with 39 percent support compared to Labour's 37 percent.

National is up seven percentage points, while Labour is down three percentage points.

The latest 1News/Kantar Public Poll also showed the Green Party had 9 percent support and Act was down three points on 8 percent.

The poll result for choosing between Jacinda Ardern and Christopher Luxon for Prime Minister was close, with Ardern on 46 percent and Luxon on 45 percent.

In the preferred PM category, Ardern was on 34 percent (-1) and Luxon was on 25 percent (+8), while Act leader David Seymour was on 5 percent (-1)
