Summer weather

From Summer Times, 11:10 am on 28 December 2017

You'll have noticed it's cold - that southerly will be whipping round your legs if you've been out on the hills taking the dog for a walk. The cold snap has sent temperatures plummet to as low as one degree in some places, especially the high plateau in the middle of the North Island. It's meant to stick around tomorrow with the chance of snow on Mount Ruapehu and ranges about the central plateau, with some heavy rain to the east. Here to fill us in is NIWA's broadcast meteorologist, Chris Brandolino.
