2Ten years ago, documentary photographer Alan Knowles became obsessed with biscuits. He decided to document the making of them and spent several years visiting the Griffins biscuit factory in Lower Hutt. The factory closed in December 2008 after 70 years of production and now the photos are on exhibit at the Petone Settlers Museum. Amelia Nurse visits the now empty factory with some former employees- and she takes a tour of the exhibit with its photographer to discover if biscuits really are 'Icons of Kiwi Consumable Culture.'
