8:35 Jonathan Moses

Jonathan Moses is a Judge at the District Court in Manukau. He was one of the founding solicitors at the Mangere Community Law Centre, and spent nearly eight years in Tanzania helping prosecute crimes against humanity, and war crimes committed in Rwanda. He was a Senior Trial Attorney with the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), leading a team of lawyers from various countries.

New Zealand scientist and social entrepreneur Ray Avery won the 2010 New Zealander of the Year award for his medical inventions which have helped millions in the developing world. He was a founding member of the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Auckland, and spent 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry. In 2003 he established the independent development agency and charity, Medicine Mondiale, to create low-cost sustainable solutions that combat global poverty and health issues for the most vulnerable and neglected societies.

Artist and filmmaker Barry Thomas is working with the Porirua Alcohol and Drug Cluster, making a series of short films with around 60 young people about their experience of the impact of alcohol in their lives. The films will be used at interactive meetings in an attempt to improve alcohol attitudes and behaviour in the district's adult population.
