09:05 Expert panel calls for ban on alcohol advertising and sponsorship in sport
The Ministerial Forum on Alcohol Advertising and Sponsorship has released its long awaited report, which makes 14 recommendations including a complete ban on alcohol sponsorship of sport and advertising or sponsorship around all broadcast sporting events.
The authors say the link between alcohol and sport are leading young people to drink earlier, and drink heavily.
Graham Lowe is the chair of the Ministerial Forum on Alcohol Advertising & Sponsorship. He is a former Rugby League coach and administrator; and Dr Farah Palmer is a member of the Ministerial Forum on Alcohol Advertising and Sponsorship. She is the former captain of the Black Ferns rugby team, a director on the NZRU Maori Rugby Board and a senior lecturer at Massey University's School of Management.
