09:05 Incredible Years parenting programme
This scheme funded by several government agencies, sends parents of violent or chronically disruptive children to parenting courses.
There are claims the courses, known as Incredible Years programme - have resulted in vastly improved behaviour for up to 75 percent of the children whose parents took part.
It's set to be expanded to another 15 thousand families.
Natasha, mother of three from the Wairarapa, who has attended the course; Sue Trainer, Director of the Werry Centre, Auckland which is involved in training those who run the Incredible Years Programme; and
Prof David Fergusson, from Otago University who's evaluated the programme.
