8:10 Has New Zealand responded correctly to the conflict in Iran?

The former MP and Foreign Minister Phil Goff has criticised the response by our Government to the strikes on Iran.

He says it has again failed to defend and uphold the rule of international law and oppose the US and Israel breaching the basic principle of the UN Charter.

Phil Goff joins Emile Donovan.

This handout satellite image from Vantor taken and released on March 2, 2026, shows damage at the Saudi Aramco's Ras Tanura refinery. Saudi Arabia's military raised its readiness levels after multiple attacks by Iran, a source close to the army told AFP on March 2, while another warned of a possible military response if its oil infrastructure is targeted. The massive Ras Tanura refinery on Saudi Arabia's Gulf coast went into partial shutdown on March 2 after a strike by drones, three days into the Middle East war.

8:30 Little Sisters of The Poor launches public appeal for expansion of elderly support

The Little Sisters of the Poor in Dunedin have been running the Sacred Heart Home and Hospital in the suburb of Brockville for over one hundred years, under the mission of providing care for the elderly who can't afford it.

And the number of those who can't afford it is simply going up.

The nuns have financed a new, 12-unit housing complex to the tune of eight million dollars.

However they're now asking for help from the public to raise the extra one hundred and fifty thousand dollars to put the finishing touches on the development.

From Little Sisters of the Poor in Dunedin, their Mother Superior, Sister Maureen, joins Emile Donovan.
