Cambridge mathematician Tim Gowers may have sparked an academic revolution against the publishing houses that dominate the access to scientific periodicals… but acarologist & Landcare curator with the New Zealand Arthropod Collection, Dr Zhi-Qiang Zhang, had already responded to the challenges of disseminating knowledge within his discipline – by founding the mega-journal for zoological taxonomists in the world, Zootaxa.
