10:20      University of Canterbury Students' Association responds to the death of a student in the halls of residence

Friends and family of 19-year-old Mason Pendrous who lay undiscovered for several weeks in the halls of residence at the University of Canterbury are still trying to come to terms with his death, as are the staff and students at the University.

Karyn speaks with the President of the University of Canterbury's Students' Association, Sam Brosnahan, about the past two-and-a-half weeks since Mason was found.

10:30     Countdown declares a quiet hour for shoppers once a week

From the end of this month, the supermarket chain Countdown will be offering a low sensory quiet hour every week at all of its stores.

Countdown's General Manager of Corporate Affairs, Safety and Sustainability - Kiri Hannifin - speaks with Karyn about the decision.

Press Patron is, as the name suggests, a New Zealand online platform that " makes it easy to support the future of journalism, via crowdfunding, membership payments and donations.

Basically, if you like a news site and they're on the platform then you can contribute financially to their upkeep.
