Yesterday saw flooding, snow, lightning and even tornados as a winter storm hit the country and it hasnt stopped overnight In a moment we'll talk to Philip Duncan from WeatherWatch. But first there was widespread surface flooding in the Wellington region yesterday, and James Holmes from the Wellington Civil Defence Emergency Management Group says to prepare for more. Meanwhile, down South snow closed part of the Milford Rd overnight, Waka Kotahi are warning that travel to and from Piopiotahi (Milford Sound) might not be possible this weekend. James Urquhart from Mt Hutt Ski Field says they only had a smattering of snow yesterday, but he expects today's storm to deliver the goods for the start of the ski season.
