La Niña conditions plus climate change brings warm summer

It's looking like the South Island will be the place to be this summer with many sticky hot days expected in the north. Niwa recently released its seasonal climate outlook for November to January, which confirms that we're in for La Niña conditions similar to the 2017/18 summer, but more extreme. Niwa meteorologist Ben Noll told our producer Matthew Theunissen that this is all being compounded by climate change.
