Temperatures soaring across New Zealand

It felt like summer for many part of New Zealand yesterday - with temperatures soaring across the country - the highest hitting 34.5 degrees celsius in the Bay of Plenty's town of Kawerau. Canterbury also saw the mercury reach the early 30s.
