Each week Culture 101 invites a guest to share their cultural favourites and shout-out to other artists. This week it’s former Shortland Street and Good Grief actor and writer Grace Palmer.
We’ve caught her in the nick of time. Palmer is returning to Vancouver to begin shooting the second season of Fox’s sitcom Animal Control.
Getting the call-up confirming a role in a high profile TV series is most actors’ dream.
When Grace Palmer got the phone call early one morning, she cried with joy and then cried about not having a warm jacket. Within two weeks she had relocated to Canada.
Palmer plays animal controller Victoria Sands alongside actor and comedian Joel McHale (Community, The Soup, Deliver Us From Evil) - a cynical former cop who has an uncanny gift for understanding animals, but not so much humans. Working on a show called Animal Control, unsurprisingly involves just that. Palmer can now add iguanas, crabs and raccoons to her list of co-stars.
You can watch season one of Animal Control on TVNZ+.
