Simon Morris compares an over-busy blockbuster with an award-winning Japanese art film, that seems to be stripped to the bone.

 

 

Jurassic World Dominion is the latest - and probably final - in the “Jurassic” series.  This time the dinosaurs share space with Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, and Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum.

 

The Informer is a Netflix film about an ex-con working undercover for the FBI.   It stars Joel Kinnaman (Suicide Squad), Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) and Clive Owen (Children of Men).

 

And Wheel of Fortune and Fantasy is the award-winning film based on three short stories written and directed by this year’s Oscar winner Ryusuke Hamaguchi (Drive My Car).
