Simon Morris talks to Joe Letteri, Head of Weta Digital, about what you can currently do with computers in movies – and whether, just because you can, you should!  

Joe Letteri started out at George Lucas’s firm, Industrial Light and Magic, and was one of the people responsible for Jurassic Park.  He joined Weta for the Lord of the Rings trilogy, just in time for another game-changer, the creation of the first truly digital character, Gollum.

Joe’s currently working on two sequels to Jim Cameron’s blockbuster Avatar, and after that another two sequels.  Turns out Jim Cameron has a lot of stories to tell…
