AT THE MOVIES #781 REACH FOR THE STARS
Simon Morris looks at three films all, in one way or another, connected with stardom – a new biopic about one of the most volatile stars of Hollywood’s Golden Age, a family movie featuring one of today’s most exotic film stars, and a zombie comedy romp featuring four appealing modern leads.
Judy sees Judy Garland struggling as her career seems to dry up. Starring Renee Zellweger, Jessie Buckley (Wild Rose) and Rufus Sewell (Victoria).
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is the sequel to the 2014 hit, starring Angelina Jolie as the misunderstood fairy and Michelle Pfeiffer as her sworn enemy.
And Zombieland: Double tap sees the original four zombie-hunters expand their dysfunctional family. Stars three Oscar nominees - Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, and Abigail Breslin – and one winner, Emma Stone.
