Aotearoa's relationship with China under strain?

This morning the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said in a speech to the China Business Summit that there are  “some things on which China and New Zealand do not, cannot, and will not agree”. She also told the attendees that “this need not derail our relationship. It is simply a reality.” 

New Zealand is in an interesting position at the moment diplomatically in the pacific terms of its relationship with China, but what is that relationship and what state is it in? 

Associate Professor in Political Science and International Relations at Victoria University Jason Young joins Jesse to discuss what the relationship is, and whether it is under unusual strain at the moment.
